Part of the program for Stockholm Culture Night

The artist group Bassängen invites you to an interactive cultural evening where you step into a world of dreams. Explore different zones filled with creativity and art, from painting workshops and films to performances, music and poetic readings – all under the theme of “the night”. It will be an evening filled with inspiration and surprises, where each “room” offers a new experience.

Most of the installations, workshops and performances are ongoing, but these take place at specific times:

19:10 Whitenoise dj set (drop in)

19:30 Eating Ape – reading by Frans Cavallin Rosengarten. (drop in)

20:00 Sound performance by Hustle Culture: an approximately 15-minute sound work that takes you through the dream world of Billy O’Neil, a middle-aged American man. What he might be dreaming about you will discover on site.

20:30 Bedtime Stories with Milton Gaimer. Milton reads bedtime stories until our ears fall off.

Night Swim is a project initiated and led by Vidar Falkenstad and Emma Oreland, members of the artist group Bassängen, in collaboration with Färgfabriken’s youth council.

About Bassängen

The artist group Bassängen arose from the lack of an rtistic spaces and a gathering places for young, unestablished artists. Since 2023, the art collective has conducted various workshops, arranged exhibitions and performances in Stockholm, including at Bio Cafe Tellus, Galleri Stjärna in Gröndal, Jakobsbergs Gård in Bredäng and participated in the cultural evening Sann at Färgfabriken. The name Bassängen (the Pool) comes from the fact that they previously used a disused swimming pool in Huddinge as a studio. The Bassängen association has about 20 members, aged 17-20. Although they are sprerad across Stockholm, the members meet regularly in a space near Odenplan.
