Cultural event with various artistic expressions
Part of Färgfabriken’s work with young people’s own cultural projects
The artist group Bassängen is making a comprehensive installation that is activated with different events. A usually overlooked area at Färgfabriken, a passage, is transformed into a public square, as a connection to public space and how art relates to public places. There is a cinema with art films and a club that houses a Bassängen meeting inside.
Program
The installation and film screenings are ongoing.
15:00-15:30: Live performance with the band SDUF.
More events will be added.
About Bassängen
The artist group Bassängen arose from the lack of an artistic spaces and a gathering places for young, unestablished artists. Since 2023, the art collective has conducted various workshops, arranged exhibitions and performances in Stockholm, including at Bio Cafe Tellus, Galleri Stjärna in Gröndal, Jakobsbergs Gård in Bredäng and participated in the cultural evening Sann at Färgfabriken. The name Bassängen (the Pool) comes from the fact that they previously used a disused swimming pool in Huddinge as a studio. The Bassängen association has about 20 members, aged 17-20. Although they are sprerad across Stockholm, the members meet regularly in a space near Odenplan.
About the project
Act III Pilot is run by Charlie Akermo, Folke Svanängen and Jack Larsson and is being carried out together with several members of the artist group Bassängen, with support from the City of Stockholm’s funds for young people’s own cultural projects. Act III Pilot is an experimental prelude to Bassängen’s planned Act III to be held in 2026: a kind of multidisciplinary art exhibition that brings together the group’s creativity and ideas – with music, art film, art, performance and everything in between.
