Tora Windahl Ex Machina
Min hall, Färgfabriken
The exhibition, which consists of one large scale work, takes over the entire main hall and is Windahl’s master exhibition from Konstfack.
Ex Machina is a large, moving, mechanical installation. The choreography is rhythmic and slow with an almost meditative appearance. About ninety bodies, sewn in hot air balloon fabric, most wearing shirts come to life by being filled and deflated with air. The choreography lasts for twenty minutes and is set in motion by the visitors’ movements in the room. Each individual is unique but also part of one and the same mass. In the mass that creates the whole, the individual still stands out.
