Inspired by street art and urban art, SuperSpace aims to engage young people in issues of public space and collective/interactive art creation through an open workshop. A mural will be created on canvas using spray paint and stencil shapes, simulating a real mural.

“People in the city pass empty, grey, monotonous surfaces daily. All streets, buildings and “spaces” in the city leave traces in people. Even places filled with bare, cold and soulless walls are the product of some kind of planning. The emptiness of the city walls says something about us, it is the symptom of a system where profit and speculation take precedence. Colour, belonging and meaning are often a luxury in the segregated, vulnerable areas. Public space reflects the society we live in, and people have the potential to change it. Planning or building a place is therefore a question of class, quality of life and justice. Where meaning is lacking, meaning should be created. Change does not start in art galleries, it happens on the street.”
