Solo exhibition
Main hall, Färgfabriken

Internal and external journeys between Riddarholmen and Paris staged in an exhibition at Färgfabriken.

It is with great joy that Färgfabriken presents LIV by Jonas Bohlin. Here one of Sweden’s most important designers make his first solo exhibition, with an unusually wide staging. The exhibition has its starting point in a rowing-trip Bohlin took in spring 1994 when he together with 53 fellow travelers rowed a boat from Riddarholmen, Stockholm, to Paris during four months.

It’s about staging a dream, about nature and culture, about traveling and friendship. It is thus not a regular art exhibition in the traditional sense, but a project that deals with both the inner journey and more concretely about moving in time and space. To illustrate this, among other things, the boat LIV with specially manufactured equipment is shown, as well as a rolling sea of oars, furniture, photos and music. Everything working together to give a holistic impression of the trip, or if you want, a mental state. As part of the exhibition, Jonas Bohlin’s new furniture series is also presented, accompanied by completely newly written music.
