A Sprouting House in Foreign Times – A lecture with artist and anthropologist Leone Contini
Welcome to a lecture with the Italian artist and anthropologist Leone Contini!
18.00 at Färgfabriken
The lecture is arranged in cooperation with Italienska kulturinstitutet in Stockholm.
Artist Leone Contini (b. 1976) has studied philosophy and cultural anthropology at the University of Siena. His research unrolls at the intersection of anthropology, aesthetics and politics and his mediums include lecture-performances, collective interventions in public spaces, textual and visual narratives and drawings. He has exhibited around Europe and won the Italian Council award in 2017 and 2023.
He participated at Manifesta 12 in Palermo 2018 with an installation called Foreign Farmers. There ten years of collecting seeds and stories took shape as an experimental garden where migrating varieties cohabit and were acclimated in the public Botanical Garden.
He is currently developing his research under the project Semenzaio, supported by the Directorate-General for Contemporary Creativity of the Italian Ministry of Culture under the Italian Council programme (2023).
At Färgfabriken Leone Contini will talk about his long-term fieldwork across Italy, investigating the intersection between global mobility and the rural space.
