Public presentation with Eva Wilson & Adam Gibbons, 22nd Nov at 2pm
Hyper: A prefix often used in scientific and technical words, to denote something above or beyond the usual, normal, expected, or healthy level. Sometimes used to mean extreme or specifically "more than super". ORIGIN from Greek huper “over, beyond”.
Adam Gibbons is an artist based in London and Eva Wilson is a curator and writer based in Berlin. During their time as guests at Earthscore Specularium during the weekend of November 21st and 22nd they will collect and discuss the world of hyper: (including but not limited to) hypercubes, hypercolor, hyperspace, and hyperstition.
Eva and Adam will make a presentation on November 22nd at 2.00pm, at the Earthscore Specularium, Färgfabriken. Presentation is included in the entry ticket.
Eva Wilson studied Art History, Cultural Science, and Philosophy at the Freie Universität, Berlin, and at the Humboldt-Universität, Berlin. Since June 2012, Eva has been a doctoral researcher at the Center for Advances Studies BildEvidenz. Her research interests include: photography and stereoscopy in the nineteenth century; early computer graphics; space, simulation, and virtuality: 1850–1950.
