Ernst Billgren – Kontakt. What happens when film meets art and when art becomes unmediated TV?

Ernst Billgren stages something that shouldn’t be possible to carry out; he puts on display, as his artwork, the making of seven short films, which in their turn are filmed by TV-cameras for a TV-series for TV4, that will air this autumn. The result is thereby an exhibition of extraordinarily mobile paintings. Moving in them are the actors and directors, photographers and costume designers, extras and make up artists. And of course the audience, since everything is taking place right in front of us. We get a unique insight in how things happen behind the curtains; what the participants are talking about – the actors, directors, politicians and musicians – what happens when they meet each other and the rest of us, what happens when film meets art and when art becomes unmediated TV.
