Film
Om skogen (About the forest) documents the many destructive consequences of the large-scale forest industry in Sweden, with the loss of old forests, and the vital importance of these wild environments with their biological diversity.
In the documentary, we meet biologists, ecologists, reindeer herders, non-governmental organizations and foresters, who through their knowledge and experience give us a greater understanding of the irreplaceable values and beauty of our forests, and illustrate how forestry must, and can, be done differently.
Director: Peter Magnusson.
Producer: Ewa Cederstam.
Language: Swedish with English subtitles

Crosscut is a multimedia cultural event for the environmental humanities sponsored by the KTH Environmental Humanities Laboratory. The festival screens films, sponsors performances, and brings together researchers, activists, artists, filmmakers and students for in-depth conversations on pressing concerns. Over the years, Crosscuts has developed into a place for voices (human and non-human) who need to be heard, but do not always have their own platforms. For Fall 2024 Crosscuts is exploring forests and the many diverse relationships humans have with them.
This event is a collaboration within the Architecture Triennale, a new platform for exploration and long-term collaboration between architects, artists and social actors. The triennial is initiated by Färgfabriken as a recurring forum for architecture and urban development, a meeting point for everyone regarding questions about the built environment and the future.
