Beyond car hegemony – Hur skulle en region planerad på helt andra premisser kunna se ut?

Seminar about future infrastructure and transports.

What does the path to equal and climate-friendly transport look like? How could Stockholm’s streetscape be organized if we took the starting point in people’s need to move and to encounter each other instead of focusing on the vehicles? New information systems, applications and ways of communications affect the way we move. Will all municipalities in the region adapt to the “accessibility principle” as a guiding rule: where transportation modes will be prioritized with pedestrians, cyclists, public transport and freight first followed by motorists? Will we see the traffic and construction budgets that accurately reflect this priority principle? An interesting question is; what is the next step after cycle enthusiasm? And wherein lies potential for change? Do we need new large systems or can we instead find innovative collaborations between modes?
