Open Call for emerging architects in Sweden and Ireland  Trading Spaces: Resources and Dwellings

Trading Spaces: Resources and Dwellings” is a new opportunity for early career architects based in Ireland and Sweden to build solidarity, share experiences and transfer knowledge.

This open call seeks early-career architects* who have made discoveries or identified challenges and opportunities in their work and have the willingness to travel to share with and learn from European allies.

Trading Spaces: Resources and Dwellings encourages us to reflect on housing design and innovative ideas that enable society to dwell lightly on the earth. At a time of material scarcity, knowledge transfer and experience remain an abundant resource.

A delegation of a maximum of three Sweden-based architects three Ireland-based architects will be selected to meet in Dublin in late September and in Stockholm in late October 2023.

All applications must be submitted before 6pm IST (Irish Standard Time) on Friday 21st July. Late applications will not be accepted.

This platform for knowledge exchance is initiated by the Irish Architecture Foundation and Färgfabriken, with the support from the Association of Stockholm Architects. This project is funded by the Irish Embassy in Sweden.

*This call is aimed at early career architects. For the purposes of this call, ‘early-career’ is taken to mean individuals who have been in practice for between 2-10 years.
